On 9th October 2019, residents of Loche Haven, a Uniting Aged Care facility in Petersham, invited Gethsemane Community Inc. representatives Myree Harris RSJ and Bernadette Chad to a thank you afternoon tea.
Residents of Loche Haven, who are rarely in contact with their families, have been receiving Gethsemane Community Inc. Christmas gift parcels for the last 15 years as part of our Christmas Project.
Their gifts are packed and delivered by students from Christian Brothers’ High School at Lewisham. Gethsemane provides the school with gift bags, a list of residents, name tags for each person and a list of suggested gift items.
Judy Russell, pictured here with Myree, has been receiving a Christmas gift parcel since it all began 15 years ago. Staff say she talks about it for months before and after Christmas.
